Happy Lunar New Year!

When I got to school this morning we had a program about celebrating Lunar New Year.  Tommy and Mommy got to stay and watch too.  Tommy wanted to stand by me and the other big kids, and I took care of him, like the good big sister I am.

First one of the older classes came out with a dragon...

And ribbon dancers...

And lion dancers.  Except they didn't dance, they just walked.

But then the REAL lion dancers came out, and they were AWESOME!

They came so close to us!  Look how excited I was!

We even got to pet one!

Then it jumped up high, and we could see the two guys inside it, one held up above the other one's shoulders.

Gong hey fat choy (Happy new year in Cantonese)!

Fun With Daddy

On Sunday Mom went to meet up with Auntie Christa, who was in Palm Springs for a conference.  While they were giggling, catching up, and hiking in the desert...

We were having a fun time with Daddy!  He took us to Petco to get a new frisbee for Chewy.  Tommy liked the hamsters...

And I loved the bunnies.

Kisses!

Then we had a picnic at the park.

And Chewy got to carry around his brand new frisbee.  Such a fun day!

Mom was back to snuggle us in the morning.

Potty Trained!

We're so proud of Tommy!

Yup, those are big boy underpants he's wearing.  He is now potty trained!
To celebrate we went to Chuck E. Cheese.

Tommy rode some of the kiddie rides, and then went on to win 125 tickets on one coin!

Cheese!

I won some tickets too...

And worked hard for them.  Check out that air, I'm on springs!

We also rode the Jet Pack simulator after eating pizza, and didn't even throw up. Hooray for Tommy!
Because he's potty trained, Mom and Dad got a treat too.  We got to go to Parent Survival Night at the Little Gym!  We wore our pajamas, ate pizza (again), and played games in the gym while Mom and Dad went to dinner.  A win for everyone involved!  We had a blast, and were a good brother and sister team.  Here you can see Tommy (in the red) sitting on my lap while listening to directions, and me giving him a little kiss just because I'm a sweet big sister.

Out and About

Since the weather's been so nice, we've been out and about a lot.  Tommy's been helping to walk Chewy while I'm at school...

And has become a pro on his tricycle.  It may be time for a big boy bike!  Here he is in action, accompanied by me and my super scooter skills.

My New Neighbor Kayla

I've been having lots of fun with my new neighbor, Kayla.  She's also in my kindergarten class!  We've been having movie nights down at her house on Fridays, and here's a little impromptu dance we did after the Barbie movie we watched.

Big Kid at the Little Gym

Tommy's in the big kid class at the Little Gym now.  That means he goes in without Mom, and she watches through the window.  He's been doing great, and got to show off some of his skills this week.

He's a good listener, and joins the train when transitioning from one activity to another.
He has fun with his buddies.  Here he is with his fellow Spider-Man buddy, Gael...

And swinging on the rings like Tarzan.

On the train again!

And practicing his handstands.  Go, Tommy!  Here's a video so you can really see him in action.

Bowling

We went bowling for the first time yesterday, and it was so fun!  There were rails on the sides for the kids so we couldn't get a gutter ball (Mom should have used those, too).  They also had these cool dinosaur ramps to help us roll the ball all the way down the lane.

This is how Tommy watched every time he bowled.  Silly little man!
I, of course, chose a pink bowling ball, and alternated between using the dino ramp and rolling it down the lane all by myself...
With mixed results.  As you can see, I wasn't too pleased at first when I didn't knock them all down.  But I quickly recovered.  In the end, Tommy and I had a tie score, and we both beat Mom.  I may need to take her here more often for more practice.

Parachute Play

Mom came to help out in my class on Friday, but we were still at gym class having a blast playing with the parachute.

That's me in the middle in the pink shirt.

Mr. Mickey told us all to lie down and stick our heads under the parachute, and told Mom to climb into the middle to take pictures of all our silly smiling faces.

She took pictures of all of us all the way around to send to the class.  And EVERYONE was laughing and smiling.  So fun!  That's me, second from the right.
