Memorial Weekend

We went down to play with our best buddies Memorial weekend.  Daddy had a new shirt made to mock Uncle Kevin...

And we all had fun playing together.  We even invented a new game: Swing Ball!

Auntie Kimmy and Uncle Andy grilled up a yummy feast for us...

And goofed around with Mom.

Daddy tried to sit with us at the kids' table, but we shooed him away.
Yum!

After dinner and more gooning around, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores...

Before getting ready to camp out!  Yup, we all fell asleep in Uncle Andy's big tent (after much talking and giggling) while the grown-ups hung out by the fire (talking and giggling).

We were the last ones to be removed and put in the bedroom upstairs, and we were OUT COLD.  Chewy liked having the other tent all to himself.

The next day we went over to play with Miles and Henry.  We swam in the pool, had some lunch, and Chewy got his toes tickled by Henry.

Miles and I drew some comic books...

And had our usual silly fun together.  We love our friends!

Playdate with Sophia

My friend Sophia came over this weekend to play.  We had a great time, and spent almost 2 hours playing Legos.  Here we are with our Lego gardens.  That's a gopher on right of mine, even though Mom thinks it looks like a Furby.

Chewy's 9th Birthday

Happy 9th Birthday, Chewy!

We had fun wrapping up his dog treats...

And a new toy we bought for him.

Happy dog with his new purple hippo!

He looks more like a happy puppy than a 9-year-old dog.

We love you, Chewy!

Ladybug Girl

Ladybug Girl is my current favorite book.  We got a new one in the series from the library called "Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy", and I drew these pictures to help tell the story.  It's all about using your imagination to have fun!

Here's Lulu aka Ladybug Girl...

And Sam aka Bumblebee Boy

And here I show that they defeat a snake (twisty slide), monst(e)r (squirrel), and robot (tire swing).  Maybe I'll become an author AND an illustrator.  And an astronaut.  And a doctor.  And president.  And cowgirl.

ROSES!!!!

I was trying to give a little introduction to a scooter show I was going to put on, when Tommy suddenly became very excited about roses.  No one takes me seriously as an artist.

Kindergarten Spring Sing

I had my first concert last night with my whole kindergarten class.  I was extra excited because I got to speak into the microphone by myself at the beginning.  Mom and Dad said I did a great job!  Here is a video showing a sampling of the songs.  I was a little hard to see because I was right in the front, but it was so fun!
1. Speaking my line into the microphone
2.  A solo preview (the next day) of the French part of "I am a Pizza"
3.  Zoo Phonics Song
4.  Apples and Bananas
5.  I am a Pizza
6.  Number Rock
7.  Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Pseudo Camping

We had a fun weekend!  I learned how to climb up to the high bar all by myself...

We tested out our new tent by having lunch in it...

 Then roasted s'mores.

Yum!

Yes, that's a big string of gooey marshmallow stuck to Tommy's face.

Afterward Tommy lined up his Rescue Bots for a family picture.  Including me, of course.  So sweet!

LA Natural History Museum

We capped off our science weekend with a Mother's Day trip to the Los Angeles Natural History Museum.  The new hall of dinosaurs is so cool!

We liked all the stuffed animals a lot...
My favorite was the cheetah, and Tommy's was the turtle.
We also had fun in the butterfly pavilion.

Look at the cute little baby monarch caterpillars!

You can see the butterfly feeding here, and its proboscis going into the flower.

But the dinosaur fossils were our favorite!  Here's Tommy roaring with the T-Rex named Thomas.

And me exploring with Daddy...

And cowering beneath the T-Rex with Mommy.

We love fossils!

But we also loved this super cool (and a little bit scary) T-Rex puppet.

It walked out this door...

And roared at us!  We liked it, but it was a little scary.  We were glad when we could see the puppeteer's legs sticking out of the bottom of the costume.

Pretty cool!

Mother's Day

Mommy got nice Mother's Day cards and pictures from all of us, and said she felt very special and very loved.  Tommy made her a magnet with his picture on it, Daddy gave her a Kindle...

And I made her this pot holder.

Happy Mother's Day!
