Kindergarten Graduation

I am a kindergarten graduate!

We had a short graduation ceremony where we all read our short essays on what we want to be when we grow up.  Here I am reading mine.  It says, "When I grow up I want to be a paleontologist and an astronaut because I love dinosaurs and I love space."  Then we sang a few songs for the parents.  Everytime we sing, "Say goodbye pumpkin pie" I smile, because Mom calls me Pumpkin Pie.

With my friend Sophia...

And my friend Kayla

I did really well this year, and got all "E"s (Exceeds current expectation) and "+"s (Advanced performance of end of the year grade level standard). Here are the comments my teachers wrote at the end of my report card:
Oh my goodness what a JOY you have been to have in our class this year.  I love the way you love learning!  You are incredibly smart and such a good reader.  Have a wonderful summer!

Look out, first grade, here I come!

First Day, Last Day

Here I am on the first day and last day of kindergarten.
Here's Tommy on the first and last days of his first year of preschool.

Father's Day 2014

We took Daddy out for a yummy Cuban sandwich lunch on Father's Day...

And then to the Reptile Zoo!   Charlie missed me...

He missed all of us!

Tommy and Daddy had fun holding Chuck, Charlie's buddy.

He's not as mellow as Charlie, and likes to jump and climb.

Tommy said he tickled.

Charlie's still my good buddy.

Even though he pooped on me.  He gave me a lick and I forgave him.  Gecko's are pretty hard to train, I guess.
We love you, Daddy!

Sweet Boys

Chewy had some time to relax and look longingly out the window this weekend...

And Tommy picked me a pretty bouquet at the park.  Sweet boys.

Ballet Recital

I had my big ballet recital on Saturday night.  I got all ready and then waited backstage with my friends...

Coloring and goofing around.

Mom came back to wish me luck before I went onstage.  The show went great!  The lights were pretty bright at first, but then my eyes adjusted and I could see Mom and Dad in the front row.  Tommy yelled, "Hi Katherine!", I waved, and the audience laughed.  Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us take pictures or video during the performance.  But here I am at stage rehearsal (in the black leotard and pink skirt, 4th from the left) so you can have an idea of how it went.

After the performance Mom brought back flowers for me, and I changed out of my tutu to go sit with everyone.  We danced 2nd, and there were 31 acts (!!!).  Needless to say, we didn't stay for the whole thing.

I was glad everyone came to watch and cheer for me!

I was also glad to run around outside a little after having all that nervous energy.  I was a little nervous on stage, but only for a little bit.

Then Tommy gave me this orange flower.  What a sweet little brother!

Then Dad suggested going for ice cream.

ICE CREAM!!!
This worked out pretty well.  Maybe I'll take ballet again next year.

Dancing With Teddy

Tommy had his last Music Together class before summer break yesterday.  They sing a song in there called, "Dancing With Teddy" that he LOVES.  Mom told him he could bring in his real Teddy today to dance with.  He was so excited!

But he couldn't figure out how to hold Teddy while he danced with scarves....

Mom came up with the perfect solution: tucking him into his shirt.  Happy Tommy and Teddy!

Pre-Birthday Spin

My teacher, Ms. Fransz, didn't want me to miss out since my birthday is in the summer, so last Friday I got to take my spin in the birthday chair!

I also got this cool birthday card and bookmark, and a gummy sticky lizard too.  I can't wait to be 6!

T-Shirt Designers

Nana gave us some t-shirts and fabric pens so we could be t-shirt designers for a summer project.  Mine is called "The Change of Kate", and it's a drawing of me waking up and then standing up on my bed and realizing I have a cheetah tail!  I say "Huh?", Mom knocks on the door, and I completely change into a cheetah and run out of the house.  Cheetahs are my favorite animal.  The t-shirt is big on me, so I wear it as a nightgown.  I love it!

Strangely, there are no t-shirts made for little kids of this scary Rancor Monster from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.  But Tommy loves him, and loves playing with Mom's old rancor toy, so she traced/drew one on a shirt for him and wrote "Future Rancor Keeper" on it.  He's thrilled!  Thanks, Nana!

I Am Officially a Bike Rider!

Today we took off my training wheels for the first time, and I did great!  Mom and Dad were so proud of how brave and persistent I am, and now I am officially a bike rider.  Yay, me!

Victory Tae Kwon Do

I went to my friend Jayden's birthday party at Victory Tae Kwon Do and had such a great time!

I learned how to bow, punch, kick, be silly (wait, I already knew how to do that), and break a board!

And at the end they got to cut the cake with a samurai sword!  Sign me up!

Ballet Dress Rehearsal

I had my dress rehearsal for my ballet recital last Tuesday.

Mom made me strike some ballet poses, because she said my cuteness was "too much".

Can you believe she even got my hair in a bun?  She can barely do her own hair!

I'm ready!

And silly!

It was fun to see everyone else in my class dressed up too.

Mom, that may be enough pictures.

Seriously, Mom.

That's me, doing a silly flailing dance to make my friends laugh.

It worked.

After my rehearsal, Tommy and Mommy both gave me a big hug and told me they were proud of me.  I can't wait for the big show next weekend!
