Katherine's 7th Birthday

I'm 7!  I started my big birthday with a phone call from Grandma and Grandpa singing "Happy Birthday".

Then I got to open a few presents.  Thanks, Chewy!

And sweet brother!

Next we got to go out for a red velvet iced donut.

Yum!

My next request was the Reptile Zoo.  Tommy was happy to see Darth Gator again...

And despite this face, I was happy to see Charlie the gecko.  I was afraid he was going to go potty on me again, like he has the last 3 times I've seen him.  But I guess his birthday present to me was holding it in.

Thanks, little buddy!

We also got to feed the tortoises.

That night we went out to dinner, so I wore my fancy ears.  On special occasions (birthdays or on an airplane only) I get to have a Sprite. This prompted me to make up a little poem:

Then everyone sang Happy Birthday to me...

And then I got to eat everything in sight.  Happy birthday to me!

Sacramento

Our last stop on our road trip was to see Mom's friend Casey and her kids, Mia and Aidan.

We had fun splashing each other at a local splash pad...

And watching a movie and having a sleep over.

Cousins in Santa Rosa

We went to stay with our 3rd cousins Quinne and Sloane in Santa Rosa on our trip up north too.  We had a blast with them at their beautiful and super-fun home!

Here's me with Sloane in front of their playhouse...
And goofing around with their grandpa while trying (and failing) to get a decent picture.

They even had a seesaw made for 4!  Apparently we were having too much fun, because Mom didn't take any other pictures.  Way to go, MOM!

Danielle's Birthday

While we were having a fun time with a babysitter and Kara and Avery, Mom and Dad went out to play for Danielle's 40th birthday.

They went wine tasting...

Goofed around with old friends...

And with each other.

Then they drank more wine...

And went back to Danielle's lodge for a chef-prepared gourmet dinner.

Not bad, Mom and Dad, but it doesn't beat our sleepover!

Santa Rosa Children's Museum

We stayed with Kara and Avery, and they took us to a super fun children's museum!

We put on plays, played doctor...

And dentist.  I like how Tommy's showing Mr. Croc how to open wide in this picture.

Auntie Leslie had fun playing in the construction area...

And Kara and I had fun dressing up and taking black and white pictures.

Mom got in on the silliness too.

There was a bee exhibit with a giant honeycomb on the wall...

And real bees in a display case!

Tommy put on a little bee uniform to help pollinate the flowers.

There was a restaurant we all pretended to work in.

And some cool stuff outside, like this bug cocoon...

And check out this dragonfly helicopter!

Not only was it cool to go inside...

But it had a little Rube Goldberg machine attached!  There's another video of us playing with the tube wall inside.  Tommy could have stayed there all day.

We made our own stickers...

And dumped pretend minnows into a stream and watched them swim down.
The adults may have had as much fun as the kids, but they may have had more fun at our next stop, Lagunitas Brewery, for lunch.

Don't worry, Auntie Leslie drank that, not Avery.

We love the Dombeks!
