Science Lessons

We went to Science Showtime at the local community college, and got to do and see all kinds of fun stuff!  

Here we are making slime from and a Borax solution and glue...

And building a tower using spaghetti and marshmallows.  






We also built a Lego robot, two dancing birds, and programmed it using the computer to do different things.

The science lessons contintued the next day at home when we found a big walking stick bug in the yard.  Mom got the bright idea to pick it up and let it crawl on her.  It was a little quicker than she anticipated...

And it tickled a lot.

Tommy let it walk up his arm too (that's it on his elbow).  I opted out, but still thought it was cool.

We love bugs! And science!

Family and Godzilla

Tommy's class had everyone make a collage of family pictures.  One kid had his shaped like a house, which inspired Tommy  to make his shaped like Godzilla.  

First Game for the Fireworks

My team, the Fireworks, had our first game on Saturday.  Huddle up!  That's me in the middle, number 10.

I did lots of running...

And played some good defense.  You can see the aftermath of this big kick I made to protect our goal...





And the big smile on my face afterward.

3-3 tie for our first game.  We'll take it!

Wednesday Beach Day

We've decided every Wednesday after school should be a beach day for as long as we can this year.   

Yay for Wednesdays!

First Day of Preschool

Tommy had his first day of preschool at our new school on Tuesday.  He was excited and ready to go!

Chewy inspected his lunch and we were off!

He had a great time, and can't wait to go back on Thursday!

Good job, Tommy!  We love our Tom Tom Frog!

Preschool Prep

Tommy went to his preschool meet-and-greet to check out his room, meet his teachers, and find some new friends.  He also got to play with the toys...

And meet JP, the Peterson dolphin!

After a good night's sleep he'll be ready!  Currently, that involves sleeping in my old monkey nightgown.  He does take off the Viking horns to sleep, though. 

Soccerfest

We had our team pictures for the Fireworks last weekend.  We all looked cute in our little soccer uniforms...

But it was unbelievably hot, so most of us left "cute" in favor of "happy and drenched by cold water".

70 Summer Books!

Tommy, the big reader, finished his summer reading chart (70 books read!),
so he got to go to Chuck E Cheese and her brought me with!

We rode rides, played tons of games, and got tons of tickets!

Tommy liked all the driving games best, and he's pretty good at them!  It makes Mom and Dad nervous for the future.

I rode some of the rides too, but I'm getting a little too old for them, so I have to amuse myself in other ways.  Rock on, Mom and Dad!

Rode a bunch of rides, and got some candy and rubber chameleon at the end.  Happy Boodle!

Pro Bowlers in the Making

And even though we my have used a few bowling aids, we both came in first place in our groups.  

 



We went bowling for our friends Sarina and Gavin's birthday last weekend and had a blast!

Maybe it's time I get my own bowling ball!  I'm thinking maybe cheetah print...

First Day of Second Grade

My first day of 2nd grade at a new school.  I'm READY!

Ready to learn in my cool new GATE class, and always ready for silliness.  So are Tommy and Daddy.

2nd grade, here I come!
