Chewy's Progress

Mom and Dad took Chewy's bandage off, and his incision is healing nicely, or at least it was until Mom left him alone for 5 minutes without his cone on and he licked it open.  Back to the vet for more stitches!

Now that he's feeling better, he's been trying to escape from his cone hat (this is how Mom found him after dropping me off at school)...
And escape from his cage.  He had scooted it all the way over here from the corner when she and Tommy got home.

It's a good thing he's cute and we love him.  Get better soon, Chewy, and stop being a stinker!

Chewy's 10th Birthday

Chewy turned 10 on Memorial Day.

This probably wasn't the celebration he had in mind.

But we made him (ok, us) a cake, sang happy birthday, and blew out the candles for him.  He got his wish for some boiled chicken and other gross wet dog food...

And got to open a few presents.

Happy Birthday, Chewy!

Chewy's Surgery

Poor Chewy tore his CCL (doggy equivalent of his ACL) and had to have surgery.  It's called TPLO, and involves cutting part of his tibia and realigning it under the femur so that the torn ligament is no longer an issue.  He had to stay overnight in the hospital, and was pretty drooly in the car on the way home the next day.

He was all shaved and bandaged up, and has to be confined in a cage to minimize his activity for the next month. He looked pretty sad.

So Mom got in his cage and snuggled with him.  The first day he wouldn't give any of us a kiss, and just felt miserable.

But we all gave him kisses anyway.

Then the next day she got in to give him some snuggle time again...

And he appreciated it.  Our puppy's back!

Hunting for Sand Crabs

We had a fun beach day with Robby and Lizzy.

While we splashed in the waves...

And gazed at the sea...

Auntie Kimmy and Mommy got to chat and giggle.

Auntie Kimmy helped us dig a huge hole and fill it with water...

And taught us how to catch baby sand crabs.  See them swimming the bucket?

She showed  us where to dig...

And where to look.  Success!  Thanks, Auntie Kimmy!

Boeing Rocket Launch 2015

We went to the annual Boeing rocket launch again this year and got a special treat: we got to meet real-life astronaut Yvonne Cagle!  I told her I wanted to be an astronaut too, and then got very shy and just smiled a lot at her.

Tommy told her he would be the pilot, and she said she would take the window seat. :)

Mommy and Tommy teamed up for some rocket building...

And I partnered up with Daddy.

We took our annual shot in front of the Boeing sign and then went to launch!
We even got to launch with our friend Isabella.  Blast off!

Disney Day

Since Stuart and Niki's wedding was at Disneyland, that meant we also got to have a whole day of playtime there.  Yay!
We tried to ride as many rides as we could...

And Kyle and Nana joined us too

So did Stuart and Niki for a few rides.

We goofed around together...

Had some lunch...

And then rode some more rides.

Tommy even ran into his good buddy Kailee.
He got to go on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree with her.

Big Disney fun!
