Hogwarts Puzzle

With A LOT of help/obsessing from Mom, we finished the 3D Hogwarts Castle puzzle I got for my birthday.

Twinning

This was the outfit Tommy chose for dinner at our friends' house, so Daddy decided to match.

100 Mile Club

We joined the 100 Mile Club at school. You run every morning before school starts for 20 minutes, they scan your namecard to keep track of your laps, and eventually you end up with 100 miles! We're excited about it, and Mom's even joining us!
But it definitely makes us all (including our friend May) TIRED!

Toothless Tommy

Tommy's big front tooth came out, and the other one is wiggly too!  Look out, school picture day, this smile is ready!

First Soccer Games

Tommy had his first soccer game with his team, the Green Dynamite, this morning.
He did threw the ball in, made a few corner kicks (see the ball sailing through the air?)
And even chased after the ball a few times!
He was super excited whenever he kicked it or blocked it...
And LOVED the tunnel at the end almost as much as he loved the donuts his team brought for a snack.
After lunch it was time for my first game with the USC Girls. Almost all of us were on the same team last year, so we know what we're doing.

And won the game 2-0!  I'm best when I'm playing defense and blocking shots, even when it's with my stomach.
Tommy had fun sitting cheering me on from the sidelines with Mom and Dad...
And even more fun gooning around with his friend Liam.
Dad is a goon too, and did his famous "Gimme Five" thing that all kids love. You give him five hard and he says he doesn't feel it, but when you touch him very lightly...
He wails in pain, and everyone cracks up. Silly Daddy!

Rockclimbing

Our friends had a birthday party at a trampoline park and rock climbing gym. It was Tommy's first time, and only my second time. I made it to the top on 3 different sides of the wall. Adventurers!

Soccerfest

Soccer season is starting!  My coach from last fall got almost all the girls back together, but now we have new colors and are called "The USC Girls". I wasn't thrilled about the title (and had no idea what USC was), but I got to help design the banner since Mom's a team parent, and now I'm excited about it.
I'm also excited about being silly with these girls for another season!
I'm also excited to see Tommy play.
This is his first year, and his team is called The Green Dynamite.
Unsurprisingly, they are silly too.

First Day of School

First day of 3rd grade for Katherine...
And first day of Kindergarten for Tommy!
They are ready...
But is the school?

Udon and Boba

We went to a Japanese market for dinner last weekend. I didn't like the liquid in my boba drink, so I just scooped out all the boba balls. No scooping for my udon, but lots of slurping!

Harry Potter World

All aboard the Hogwart's Express!
We were SO excited to go to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios last week!  Here we are in Hogsmeade village...
Doing a little window shopping in our wizards' robes...
Checking out Honeyduke's Sweets and Zonko's Joke Shop.
And carefully observing the Monster Book of Monsters inside Flourish and Blotts bookstore.
Beware! It's feisty!
Mom and Dad even let us adopt these 2 pygmy puffs!

Tommy tested out a Firebolt broomstick in Quality Quidditch Supplies...
And then it was off to check out Hogwarts Castle!

While we were waiting in line for the Harry Potter ride, Tommy heard some rustling in the bushes and told Dad, "I think I heard a mythical beast!!!"
The Harry Potter ride was a little intense (and made us want to puke), but we all loved the "Flight of the Hippogriff" roller coaster.
We loved it so much that we rode it 5 times!
Like any good young wizard, I had to try a glass of butterbeer...
Yum!!!
No fake beer for Mom and Dad. When we went through the Simpsons Springfield set, they said it was their version Disneyland, and made us stop for a real beer (a Duff, of course) at Moe's Tavern.
Mom needed a selfie with Barney too.
We checked out some of the other attractions, like the animal actors show.
That's a fennec fox!
And Tommy LOVED petting the chicken and said she was very soft and pretty.
We liked the minions ride...
But then we came right back to Harry Potter world.
A fun family day, even if our parents are muggles.
