Reptile Birthday Party

Tommy's friend Mason had a cool reptile guy come for his birthday. Tommy and his friends got to hold all kinds of snakes...

He even got kissed by a blue tongued skink...
And liked it!
The parents got to hold stuff too.

Actually, Mom had to hold this tarantula when Tommy chickened out.
Tommy did pretty well holding up this 80 pound snake.
The next day he made a snake mask (see the fangs at the bottom?) and wore it to lunch. Good job, reptile boy!

St. Patrick's Day 2017

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  We both sported green..
But when we went to pick Tommy up from his class at the end of the day, his teacher said she didn't know where the students were, but that we could take one of these leprechauns home. This one was cute, and said his name was Thomas O'Kingman.

He stayed in character for a full hour after school, and puts on the outfit almost every day so we don't have to miss Thomas, unless Tommy is around. Weird how they're never in the same room...

Meeting Baby Francis

I got to meet Auntie Danielle's new baby Francis last week. He's so snuggly!

Dolphin and Whale Safari

We finally cashed in Mom's birthday gift and went out on a whale watching adventure!
The gray whales are migrating, and we saw 6 of them!  Mom and Dad were too busy watching them to get any good pictures of the whales though.
But then we saw dolphins. TONS of long-beaked common dolphins, and there was plenty of time to take pictures.
They were so close!
You can even see this one's blowhole!
Here's a video of all the dolphins swimming along with our boat. They were so playful! And Tommy's running commentary at the beginning is too funny.
There was an underwater viewing area where the dolphins were swimming right next to us. It was so cool!
Dolphin selfies!

On the way back into the harbor we saw these silly sea lions and heard them barking.
It was a super fun day!

Tommy at the Park

Tommy climbing a tree...
Being a goon...
Playing with his friend Liam at my soccer game...

And practicing to become The Human Cannonball!

Cyclops

Tommy drew this after we finished our main project in art class. He told Mom it's a cyclops. Nope, that's not his eye in the middle at the top, it's his belly button. Then his loin cloth below, and a green dragon's tail across his legs. This is apparently only a small part of a much bigger scene playing out in his head.

Moms and Muffins

Last Friday was Moms and Muffins day before school.

And at night before bed Mom played airplane with us and took our silly pictures.

Build-A-Bear

Last weekend my friend May had her birthday party at Build-a-Bear, and we all got to make a bear to take home. First, you choose which one you want.
Yup, that's a bear without stuffing. Just teddy bear skin.
While we were taking turns getting our bears stuffed we played Heads Up Seven Up. Tommy liked using his buddy Cole as a pillow.
They had us do other silly things while waiting, like holding our bears on our heads.
Once our bears were stuffed we got to dress them. I dressed mine as Batgirl and Tommy chose Bobba Fett from Star Wars. It was so fun!

Hedwig's Theme

I got to play Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter for my class during keyboarding!  They're the perfect audience, because most of them love the Harry Potter books almost as much as I do.  If you listen closely, you can hear my friend Charlie gasp near the beginning of the song because he's so excited. I love my class!

Green Eggs and Ham

For Dr. Seuss's birthday Tommy's class wore green and performed a Green Eggs and Ham song for the parents and PTA
There he is in the back, peeking around someone else's Cat in the Hat hat.
There is a video him "singing" and doing some of the hand gestures, but, as he put it, he "has a frowny face on" and doesn't really like singing in front of people, so Mom agreed not to post it.
But he did like taking a silly picture with his buddies, Elijah and Evan.

100th Day of School

The first 100 days of school are over! Tommy's class had a celebration, compete with silly hats and 100 froot loops on a necklace. He doesn't look pleased in this picture...
But he really is.
His class is a silly bunch.
Good job, big kindergartner!
