More Quarantine Baking

I made lemon bread from scratch for Tommy the other day. Here I am squeezing out lemon juice for the glaze.

It was yummy and he said it "tasted like heaven!"

I also decided to make chocolate half spheres for a cool looking dessert I found online. I used balloons to shape them...

And Dad used a sharpie to deface them. 

When I plated them, they looked like this...

With a brownie and ice cream underneath. 

Then I poured hot fudge over the top, and watched the whole thing cave in. 

It was pretty cool! A little bit of chocolate overload, but still yummy and super cool looking!

Virtual Cub Scout Pack Camp Out

We had a virtual campout with Tommy's Scout Pack last weekend. We built a shelter out of blankets...

And played musical instruments and listened to campfires stories with the other Scouts over Zoom. At the end we roasted s'mores.

Yum!

Tommy's den put together a video of jokes for the talent portion of the campfire program. They did a great job!

Quarantine Week #5

We admit, we've been going a little stir crazy this week. Tommy made a robot mech suit for Teddy, so Teddy could feel what it's like to have arms again.

We heard there was a family of skunks out in the neighborhood, so we went looking for them! Smart? No. Kind of fun? Yes!

We also took a bike ride with our new bigger bikes...

And saw this cute little mouse crossing the road. All the animals are coming out now that the humans are staying in. 

We've been looking for something else outside to keep us busy, so Dad built us a handball wall and let us paint it!

It looks pretty cool, and works great!

Our neighbors may not love it, but since they're re-doing their whole yard, they won't be back there for awhile, so they probably won't even know!

Dad and Tommy also decided to shave our heads. I opted for a temporary mohawk. Pretty cool, eh? Maybe they can get Mom  and me to shave their heads next. You never know, quarantine is making us a little crazy!

A Scout Is...

Our Scoutmaster asked us to be a part of this depiction of the Scout Law for our Troop's Instagram page. That's us in the bottom left corner.

The Orange County Scout Council saw it and posted it on their page too. We're famous county-wide!

Easter 2020

The Easter Bunny doesn't have COVID-19, and came to our house! We had a an indoor/outdoor egg hunt...

And got books and candy in our Easter baskets. I also got the "Beanboozled" game...

And Tommy got a tardigrade stressball. Despite his face here...

The kid loves tardigrades. We named him Timmy.

Instead of dying eggs, which are in short supply at our local grocery store, we decided to decorate egg-shaped sugar cookies. 

They turned out cute!

And everyone but Mom likes them more than hard boiled eggs.

We ended the day with a family game of Risk. Stay tuned to see who wins, it's going to be a few days.

Fun things to do during quarantine: Drive through to support your local bagel shop by buying one of their awesome rainbow bagels...

 Run around the yard with your new laser tag toys. Makes social distancing easy!

Anniversary Quarantine Style

Since we were all trapped inside for Mom & Dad's 16th anniversary, we decided to make them a fancy dinner. I made pasta from scratch, and Tommy set a formal table, with a little help from google. 

Tommy also made this pasta drying rack from Goldieblox. 

Then we got dressed up for a yummy dinner. 

The pasta was perfect, and my bacon cream sauce was yummy too!

Mom and Dad were very appreciative...

And grossed us out by doing this and then kissing. 

Ugh!

Quarantine style!

April Fool's Day

We woke up to little googly eyes on all the food on April Fools' Day. 

It may have been Mom.

Tommy put this scratch sticker from his prank kit on Mom's car to try to prank Dad, but it didn't work.

He did get Mom by putting this under her computer mouse so it wouldn't work. Stinker!

Then Mom got us good by showing us this fake meme. So mean!

But we got her back really good. We stuffed my clothes and put them on her bedroom floor like this:

She came in and screamed. Mission accomplished!

Then she found George like this (yes, we named it George) when she came to bed. Nice work, Dad!

Week 4: April 40th - April 465th

This is how Mom looks when she goes grocery shopping now. 

We did a drive-by birthday parade for a friend from Scouts. This was part of the "Happy Birthday" banner we made for him. 

We took a little hike with Dad so we didn't go stir crazy...

While Mom had a little happy hour with her Semester at Sea friends so she didn't go crazy. 

At least the sky and air quality have been beautiful lately!
