Scout Summer Camp 2021

Kat went to scouts summer camp at Lost Valley!

10 boys and 21 girls from her troop went, and there were other troops there as well. 

They camped in tents for 6 nights, and Kat worked on her cooking merit badge...

Navigated their way around camp (they had to ride bikes because the place is so big!)...

She also earned her pottery and horsemanship badges (separately) ...

And hung out at the stables every day. 

She and her friends went to the Trading Post to get candy and ice cream A LOT.

She said she had fun, but was really tired when she got home. We all missed her...

Even Tommy, even though he pretends he didn't. 

Summer Day Camps

Tommy tried surfing camp again this year. He had fun, and stood up a bunch of times. I didn't get to see him in action catching waves...

But I did get to watch him get hosed down like a dog after they got done. 

Kat did a "Great American Sweet Treats" themed baking camp. I didn't get any pictures of her in action either, but I did get to take her out to lunch on the last day. 

Photoshoot

Kat and her friends decided they wanted to have a "photoshoot", taking pictures of each other at the park. They got some really cute shots!

Nana's Birthday

Happy Birthday, Nana! We went out for a fancy dinner at Flemmings.

It was the kiddos' first really fancy meal, and they were impressed with the bread and the service. 

They were most impressed with the dessert. 

A fun night!

Gizmo's Quest for the Biggest Stick

Gizmo is ridiculous. He is constantly finding massive palm husks to tote around the neighborhood and then shred in the back yard.

And lately he has been bringing the biggest sticks he can find back from the trail. 

People walking and driving by were cracking up. But he was VERY proud of himself and made it all the way home, totally exhausted. 

 

Tommy's Basketball Playoffs

Tommy's basketball team had a big win in the playoffs, but then lost in the semifinals. They came a long way and played really well as a team, and Tommy scored his first basket! Yay, Tommy!

 

4th of July 2021

We had a fun 4th of July with our neighbors. They had a potluck...

And Tommy and Gizmo were the ones who utilized the baby pool the most. 

We had a water balloon fight...

Then spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool before lighting off fireworks. Apparently we were having too much fun to take any pictures. Gizmo was NOT a fan of the fireworks, but sitting on the couch in his Thundershirt with Mom watching DogTV helped. 

Playing with Friends

Mom went to Vegas to have some playtime with her friends.

While she was being fancy...

And having big Vegas fun...

Tommy had some fun at Camp James. This is what he looked like for pick-up on the last day (don't worry, those aren't real tattoos). 

Kat went to her friend Kira's birthday party.

They went to an escape room...

And escaped the "Rise of Excalibur" room with 23 minutes to spare!

Not bad for a bunch of goofballs!

She also took a bike ride to the beach with her friends...

And we all went down to to play with Miles and Henry one day before they headed to Michigan for the summer (and sadly this was the only picture we got). 

Kat's New Haircut

Kat wanted a change and decided to go short. So cute!

That's her pile of hair that's no longer needed.
