Kevin and Dad's 50th Birthday Party

While Kara and Avery played with us at our house, Dad and Uncle Kevin had a joint 50th Birthday Party at the 4 Sons Brewery.

They had lots of friends come to help them celebrate...

And it was a really fun event!

These two are a comedy duo that we LOVE! Happy 50th!

 

Sea World for Henry's Birthday

We joined Henry and his buddies for his birthday celebration at Sea World. First stop was the cleaner fish. They loved Mom and Dad, and feasted on Tommy a little too. 

Kat was only willing to stick one finger in. She doesn't love fish. 

Next were the roller coasters. Tommy was stoked that he got to hang with Miles and his buddies (aka "The Big Kids")

Kat was happy to be stuck with Dad, and really liked The Manta!

Next we needed to cool off, it was HOT out! Getting soaked on the river rapids ride helped. 

A quick peek at the orcas...

Then on to the shark exhibit. 

The penguins are so silly!

And the turtles reminded of us of being in Hawaii. 

Tommy pet the horseshoe crabs and the stingrays...

And we had fun goofing around with Henry and Miles and all their friends.

This walrus hung out with Tommy for awhile...

Then pressed his whole face against the glass. Too funny!

Kat's in Color Guard

In addition to completing her high school health class online over the summer, Kat also started practicing with the HBHS Color Guard. They had their first football game and half-time show last week and it was so fun!

They're a fun crew, and she's been spending a lot of time with them.

It was quite the spectacle with the color guard, band, and cheerleaders all out on the field for the pre-game show!

Her friend Phoebe's little sister wanted a picture with her. 

 Here your can see her in action. The first part of the video is her practicing at the middle of the summer, then an idea of what their performances look like on the last day of band camp. Next is their performance at the 1st football game halftime show. She starts out on the right (#30), and ends up on the far left. The last two videos are of her goofing around with the color guard and cheerleaders in the stands. We're so proud of her, and think she's going to have a fun year!

Joaquin & Jenny's Wedding

Dad's friend Joaquin from work got married, so he got to have a little past-coworkers reunion at their wedding. Congrats!

 

Dad's 50th Birthday

Happy Big 5-0, Dad! He got lots of fun presents...

But we're pretty sure the Thrifty ice cream scooper was his favorite!

Good nostalgia, and yummy chocolate malted crunch Thrifty ice cream!

Happy Half Century, Dad!

We took him out to Gyu-kaku for some Japanese BBQ.

It's always fun to cook your own meat, and your own s'mores. 

 

Jr. Guards Ends

All good things must come to an end. Tommy had a great time at Jr. Guards, and said he wants to do it again next year!

He was named a 2nd Lieutenant in his group. 

And they had an awards ceremony at Central Park for all the participants. 

His buddy Evelyn was in his group, too. 

We're proud of everything you learned, and all your hard work this summer, Tommy!

So proud that we'll take you to play pinball again. 

And we know you're proud of your rockin' shorts tan. Impressive!

Kara and Avery and the US Open

Kara and Avery were in town for the US Open of Surfing. They brought their cousin down to play with us for he day.

So were the waves! But that didn't stop us from playing in them...

And each of us getting knocked down by one at some point!
