Bowling with Kyle

We never take enough pictures when we're out having fun together, but here's the one I did take when we went bowling with Uncle Stuart, Aunt Niki, and Kyle. We had lots of fun, but I think it's fair to see none of us are heading for the pro bowling circuit. 

 

Winter Guard Overnight Competition

Katherine had her first regional winter guard competition in San Diego last weekend. Super glam, right? It was pretty rainy and miserable out

Their show is called "10 Seconds to Midnight" and has a doomsday-clock theme. Kat i in the back left, dramatically posing next to the clock. 

Here she is in the back in the middle, throwing a saber in the air. 

That's her second from the right, being way more flexible than we knew she was! Good job!

Mom got to sneak away from all the color guard shenanigans for some tea with the locals, Kristin and Kim. Yay!

Gizmo is Ridiculous : February Edition

This dog is a snuggler...

And a begger. Here he is trying to mooch food from Mom. But he's so snuggly! It usually works.

He's a good snuggler on the couch...

And we've still never seen an animal that stretches as much as this one. 

Or yawns. How does that tongue fit in his mouth? 

His newest obsession is digging for gophers up on the trail. Isn't this a lovely view of the sunset, with him shoulder deep in a gopher hole?

This one cracked us up because of the placement of his toy, Corndog.

And the most ridiculous picture yet. We call this "ape baby", sitting with his butt tucked way under him. And the look on his face is too funny.

This is still his preferred sleeping position. 

And he's a good boy! Most of the time. 

Here you can see him spazzing out in the backyard, and hear all his crazy whining noises.

Tommy is a Snowboarder!

Dad and his friend Jason decided to take some the kids snowboarding in Brian Head, Utah (Kat had color guard, so Mom stayed home with her). Road trip!

Tommy took a lesson one day, had a rough morning the next day, and then killed it on the last afternoon. Huge snowboarding improvement!

The next weekend Tommy earned his snow sports merit badge with his Troop. 

Mom got to come along for the ride this time. 

The day was perfect, and the snow was great for making snowballs. 

Tommy did great, and had no problem on the lift or the slopes!

He had a good time on the slopes with his Scouts buddies. 

May be a little too much fun. This is them in the back of the car on the way home. 

So much snow in the local mountains. I love having a view of snow-capped mountains with palm trees in the foreground from the beach!

Tommy's 12th Birthday Party

Tommy wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge with his buddies for his 12th birthday. His best friend Cole came the first night and spent the night...

 And then his Bradley came too to play the next day. They spent the day dumping water on each other, dunking each other, and riding water slides. 

There may have been some ice cream before bed...

And some ice cream after waterslides and before the nickel arcade. Happy Birthday, Tom Tom!

Winter Formal 2023

Kat went to winter formal with a bunch of friends. 

They had fun getting dressed up (except for heels)...

And goofing around for pictures. 

Kat and Emily, friends since 2nd grade. 

They even took a big party bus to get to the venue.

Basketball - The Guardians

Tommy's been having a really fun season with his rec league team, The Guardians.

He gets almost all the starting tip-offs...

And plays a lot of defense and center.

He's even made some great shots! Playoffs are next weekend, wish him luck!

SAS in CO

Mom snuck away for a weekend in Colorado with her Semester at Sea friends. They had tons of laughs, ate yummy food...

And did a lot of hot tubbing in the snow. 

 

Model United Nations Awards

Kat is starting to like MUN more, especially since she got to work with a friend in her last conference, and came away with the research award and Distinguished Delegate. Go, Kat!

 

Tommy's First Band Concert

This kid loves playing the tuba! We were very pleasantly surprised (no offense) with our first school band concert, they did a great job!
