Holiday Songs
We sang a few holiday songs for our parents at school. Mom's camera ran out of memory, so she only captured a little bit of it, but here's "The Christmas Song".
Piano Recital 2016
I had my first piano recital last night. I played "Holly Jolly Christmas". Mom and Dad said I did a great job, and that's Tommy you hear yawning on the video, so that's what he thought about it. Brothers!
December Art
I had fun doing some winter themed paintings at my art class this month.

My teacher asked if Tommy wanted to come along and try it out for a lesson, so he came to paint the snowmen. Here's his interpretation:
He did great and had a good time! My teacher said I was a very sweet and helpful big sister, and that we seem like we get along really well, which is true most of the time. Tommy liked it so much he said he may want to start doing art instead of chess. We'll see in January!

2016 Christmas Tree
Time to get the tree!
We love going to pick out the Christmas tree!
And it's tradition to just pick one without unwrapping it. This one felt like the right one.
We always drink sparkling cider and champagne (Mom) and listen to the Nutcracker while we decorate the tree. We love unwrapping all the ornaments and memories that go with them. Mom has some from the year she was born!
Turned out pretty good!
Until we came back from visiting Santa and found it like this. Ugh! We lost about 1/4 of our ornaments in the this Great Christmas Tree Crash of '16, but we got a bigger stand, got the tree back up, and are back in business. Auntie Leslie even bought us a new pickle ornament since ours broke! Guess we should've upgraded our 6-7' tree stand once we got a 9' tree. Eep! We out-Griswalded ourselves yet again.

Visiting Santa
We had fun visiting Santa and telling him what we wanted for Christmas.
Then we got to eat candy canes and ride the Christmas train!
How many days until Christmas?

Happy is Back
Our elf, Happy, is back. He hides every morning and we have fun finding him. Last weekend he was extra tricky and made us follow a coded scavenger hunt to find him. And he was under the table we were working at all along. Stinker!

Tommy's Nexo Knights 6th Birthday Party
Tommy had an early 6th birthday party. He wanted a Lego Nexo Knights theme, so Mom bought foam swords and made cardboard shields for everyone to decorate. Here are Sir Tommy and Sir Nixon battling.
We also had a scavenger hunt...
And more sword fighting!
He loved his Book of Monsters cake...
And loved having everyone sing to him.
Happy Birthday, almost 6 year old Boodle!
Tommy's Arm
Last week Tommy fell off the monkey bars and twisted his arm. It hurt pretty bad when Mom poked it, so we got him checked out at urgent care. No broken bones, but a little soft tissue damage near his elbow. Nothing 5 days in a sling couldn't cure. He was a trooper, and was actually really excited to wear his sling to school, at least for the first 2 days. Don't worry, now he's good as new! But no monkey bars for awhile.
100 Mile Club - 25 Miles Reached!
I made it to 25 miles in the 100 mile club, and got my t-shirt from the principal. 50 miles, here I come!

Miles' Birthday Party
Miles had his birthday party over Thanksgiving break. He loves Batman and Riddler, so there was riddle scavenger hunt for us to follow.
There was a clue with each of our names on it, and we had to read it and then figure out where the next clue was.
Since Tommy's such a big reader he could play too!
We had lots of fun. It's hard to say whether Tommy likes Miles or cake more in this picture, but I think it's both. And that's a pretty big compliment.
Thanksgiving 2016
We had a nice Thanksgiving at our house with Nana.
After dinner it was time for a beverage...
And to totally school Mom and Dad at Monopoly.
