Phoenix Zoo

We decided to check out the Phoenix Zoo (we usually go to the Wildlife World Zoo because it's closer to Grandma and Grandpa).  Not only were they having a Lego event - check out the cool chameleon!...

But it was an awesome zoo!  We got up close with this mama orangutan and her baby...

And got to watch them give a pre-Thanksgiving feast to the tiger. Here I am, big Kat watching big cat...

We got to walk among the squirrel monkeys. This one wanted us to be sure we knew that was him in the picture...

And saw really cool mandrills up close too. 

This caracol had been at the zoo for a few years, and had to have her front leg amputated due to illness. We thought she was very pretty, but she did not appreciate our admiration and hissed at us the whole time. 

The zoo also had a super fun kids' section. More on that to come...
