Cub Scout Day Camp was a family affair this year. Mom ran the STEM booth, and I was one of her youth volunteers, along with these three goofballs Brandon, Bryan, and Raymond.
Here's Mom doing a demo for the Scouts about pressure and gravity...
Making magnet pyramids to experiment with...
And even making solar ovens to cook s'mores in!
But it wasn't all fun and games. We had to set up and tear down all the equipment every day. We'd use these big wagons to haul equipment (and each other) around.
They were heavy, and it was hot out!
Tommy had fun being a camper...
And goofing off with the kids in his den.
On the last day we had a water balloon fight. It was chaos!
Once you got hit you had to sit out. Tommy instantly pelted me, so there I am sitting in the orange shirt.
Stinker.
But it wasn't over yet! They had all the youth volunteers stand in a line, unarmed, while the campers pelted us with balloons!
I got a bit wet.
So did my friend Alaina.
On the next round I went straight for Tommy. That's me in the orange chasing him in the yellow cap.
Got him!
Here we are in action doing demos from Mom's booth, having a water balloon fight, and Tommy and his den performing their skit, Skittles:
Afterwards there was one final cleanup...
And then some well-deserved ice cream after a long week. So long, Cub Scout Camp!
