Pinewood Derby 2021

The Cub Scouts finally got to have their Pinewood Derby. Tommy's car was the "Arrow of Dawn", and came in first in most of his heats.

Then in the final race it skidded out a bit, but he ended up with 3rd place!

Great job, Webelos den!

Ryan was 1st place, Lilly was 2nd, and Tommy was 3rd. 

April with Gizmo

Tommy's been taking Gizmo for lots of walks with Mom and Dad lately...

And has been mocking him in his sleep. 

Sometimes we go out to dinner without Gizmo, but we always miss him. 

Tommy's been working on building Lego mechs, and even Lego masks!

Snuggle time for the boys on the couch. 

Gizmo got to play with his friend, Luna. 

And he carried this huge, heavy palm husk home. He had to keep stopping to rest. Tommy said, "His persistence is admirable!"

Gizmo went for a walk with his friend Henry, and Henry introduced him to his first "Pupaccino". 

Yes, it's a thing. 

It's only whipped cream in a cup, but both pups thought it was amazing!

Mom got to hang out with some of friends for the first time in a long time...

And Kayla and Kat challenged each other to a scone baking competition. Tommy was the judge, and enjoyed his job very much!

Cousins by Love

The Dombeks came down for a visit over their spring break. It had been WAAAYYYY too long since we'd gotten to play with them. 

We've been talking over FaceTime, Among Us, and Messenger Kids, but it was much more fun to giggle together in person. 

We worked on Avery's circus skills...

Tried some synchronized pool jumps...

And had too much fun just goofing around together. 

We all went out to dinner at Stacked.

And can't wait to see them again!

 

Easter 2021

The Easter Bunny came!

All the excitement wore Gizmo out. 

We dyed some eggs...

They turned out quite pretty! Too bad Mom's the only one that eats them. 

The kids had fun searching for their Easter baskets...

And ate their candy while doing some swinging.

Then they helped Gizmo search for his Easter eggs (filled with dog treats, of course)

This may not have helped to curb his begging. 

 

Out and Back

Mom and Dad have been heading out for dinner every once in awhile and letting Kat and Tommy stay home to watch a movie. 

Gizmo's not sure how he feels about this. 

He is a very interactive pup...

He stayed with the neighbors while we were snowboarding, and they gave him this fun unicorn toy. He was happy to have all his other toys again when he got home, but didn't want to share his unicorn. You can see him holding it down with his paw while he chews on another toy.

And getting some snuggles from his favorite sister. She takes good care of him and Tommy while Mom and Dad are out. 

They went out for their 17th anniversary...

And came home to nice puppy snuggles. 

 

Cousin Kyle

Kyle came over for a visit and some play time.

April Fool's Day 2021

Tommy work up early (like always) on April 1st to make sure all his pranks were prepared. He got me with these light switches being taped down...

And not being able to close this drawer because he taped a pencil along the runner. 

But his proudest achievement was when he balanced a bucket full of Legos on top of the bathroom door, and I ran in to go after dropping him off at school and shut the door and was showered with Lego pieces. Stinker. I got him back by changing all the language on his iPad to German. 

Tommy also put a whoopie cushion under Dad's pillow, but it was more fun to play with it with Gizmo. Happy April Fools' Day!

Scouts

Before our vacation, Tommy had his Cub Scouts' Blue and Gold event at the beach. Here he is playing with the hockey box with his buddy Remy. 

While we were in Brian Head, Kat was the emcee for her virtual Court of Honor. She helped arrange all the speakers, and did a great job running the show! Here's a slide of her patrol camping...

And here she is presenting rank advancements. 

She also earned her Star rank, and is well on her way becoming an Eagle Scout! Great work, Kat!
