Scouts for All

As of May 1st, the Boy Scouts of America will begin admitting girls, and I'm excited to become an Eagle Scout like Dad!  I even got 6 of my girlfriends to join. We attended a boys' den meeting to see how we liked it, and learned to tie knots. Here we are working on the clove hitch...
And the bow line rescue knot.
Mission accomplished!
That's a sturdy knot!
We'll also need a den leader, and figured Mom might be just the right goofball for the job. Look out, Scouts, the Kingman ladies are in!

Laguna Hike to the Beachcomber

We went on a 5 mile hike with some friends from school all the way from Laguna Canyon down to the beach.
My buddy Brooklyn and I.

Near the end of the trail we saw a rattlesnake! It was slowly slithering across the path. We were far enough away to be safe, but it was still a little freaky!
We took a pit stop at the bottom of the hike to roll in the grass...

And then got to play in the waves and touch sea anemones in the tide pools.

We ended up at the Beachcomber for a snack and drink while looking out at the ocean.
Jackson and Tommy were more interested in throwing rocks in the bog. Don't worry, I joined in too.
Another fun adventure in Southern California!

Spring Break 2018

For spring break we had some fun riding bikes to the park...
Meeting Robby and Lizzy at a trampoline park (no pictures, unfortunately), and having Kara and Avery over to play. We took them in our hot tub...

And our freezing cold pool (hope they start heating it soon!).

Then mom helped us make cookies. We made them rainbow colored, and shaped them into...
Unicorn poops!
Though that sounds pretty gross...
They were actually pretty good!
Seriously!

New Bike for Tommy

Tommy outgrew his old bike, so he got a new one! He named it "The Offroader", and is about twice as fast as before on it, so look out!

Easter 2018

The day before Easter we went over to the park by our friend Phoebe's house for their big annual egg hunt.
Colton, Kat, Tommy, Phoebe, Kira
There were over 2,000 eggs hidden throughout the park, it was so fun!

The next day we woke up and found our Easter baskets! The Easter bunny also hid 2 presents for us.
One was Super Mario Legos for each of us, and the other was a can of black beans and tuna? Gross! I hope Easter never falls on April Fool's Day again!
Later Nana came over and we dyed Easter eggs...
And did a little celebrating. Our Auntie Misty celebrated with us too. She's staying with us for a bit, which is super fun!
We went for a bike ride and I picked some pretty flowers for them...

Dad and Tommy went to the park for some boy time...
And I helped Mom finish decorating the Easter Egg cake pops we made. I think the GoldieBlox company will be happy to know that in addition to building Rube Goldberg machines with their product, we also engineered them to be cake pop stands. Happy Easter!

Easter Party at School

Before spring break Tommy's class had a little Easter egg hunt. They all made little baskets and daffodils, and then hunted for eggs in the school garden.
Each egg contained candy and a word to read, and when you read all the words you got MORE candy! Good stuff!
They also made these silly bunny masks for a fun class picture.
The big Step It Up fundraising event was also that day. Here is Tommy with a few friends before all the bouncing mayhem began. Bring on spring break!
