Spring Piano Recital 2019

Our spring piano recital! Mom told me I HAVE TO play piano through 5th grade, so it may even be my last one. We'll see, I'm still contemplating.
But it was fun, and Mom and Dad said we did great! I got lots of compliments from other parents there too.
Here's Tommy playing "Tumbleweed Trail" and me with "Flying Leaf".

A Visit from Grandma

Grandma came to visit us! She helped Tommy trim down his pea plant...
And did some twinning with me wearing my back-up ears.
She also had an idea for us to do a 4-second abstract art painting. Each person gets 4 seconds to add to the canvas before the other one’s turn.

Then Grandma and I worked on it a little to bring everything together.
Here's the finished product. It was a fun experiment!
We took Grandma to the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center for an event celebrating their new baby animals. She opted not to get her face painted...
But that didn't stop Tommy and me!
We saw baby opossums...
Little ducklings...
Baby hummingbirds in their nests...
Baby raccoons, and a bunch of other birds and animals that had been rescued, like this silly goose that would honk whenever Tommy talked to it.

That night we went out to dinner...
And Tommy picked out Dad's clothes so they could match.
It was a super fun visit. We love you to pieces, Grandma!!!

Sugar and Snuggles

Mom had a $5 Starbucks gift card, and since she doesn't like coffee she decided to let me try a coffee-free cream-based s'mores frappuccino. I'm not entirely sure what that even is, but it was yummy and packed with sugar. Even though there was no caffeine I was still all amped and jittery on a sugar rush afterwards. It was awesome!
After we'd been gone camping, and since Dad's been away for work a lot this month, Chewy was feeling a little more needy than usual. He's liked being up on the couch with us lately, but he's not usually a snuggler. Until last night when he laid like this with his head on Mom's lap.
She was in heaven! Good boy, Chewy!

Cub Scout Camping at Camp Tahquitz

We went camping with Tommy's cub scout pack outside Redlands, CA.
We took a fun hike...
There was even snow on the nearby mountains!
We found this cool tree fort...

And crossed some log bridges.

We hunted for walking sticks and were victorious!

Then we decorated our walking sticks back at camp.
Tommy's turned out cool!
After lunch we hiked over to a nearby lake.
There were thousands of little tadpoles in the shallows. We had fun catching them and letting them go.

Biggest. Pinecone. Ever.

Back at camp we made our own rekenreks (abacus) for part of a cub scout adventure...
And threw pinecones at stuff, just for fun.
I helped cook dinner...
And we had a fun family camping experience!

Home Grown Peas!

Tommy's pea plants grew so fast!
And because he grew them he decided to try them. Eating something green by choice!!!!

They were yummy...
And sweet, just like us!
