Halloween 2020

Quarantine wasn't going to stop us from going all-out for Halloween! Mom bit off a bit more than she could chew with Tommy's Soundwave Transformers costume...
But it was all worth it when he looked in the mirror for the first time with it all on and said, "I look AWESOME!!!"
We decided Gizmo should be a shark because of all his teeth, but he did NOT enjoy it, and just tried to eat it the whole time.

Kat made a lovely Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter...
And looks quite cute as a blonde too!
Her friend Sarah dressed as Harley Quinn...

And Tommy's friend Cole was Super Mario riding Yoshi.
Action pose!

Of course we had to do a family action pose too.
Mom and Dad went as Johnny and Daniel from "The Karate Kid"
They are so embarrassing...

In the Karate Kid reboot "Cobra Kai" this is Johnny's drink of choice.
Don't worry, they made up later.

Pumpking Carving

We usually carve pumpkins at the neighbor's house, but this year we got it done in our backyard. Tommy drew this Godzilla design for Mom to carve...
And Kat and Dad did theirs on their own.
The tongue on Kat's turned out really cute...
And Dad's was very timely.

Mom's:
Tommy's:
And Gizmo's:

Trick or Treating

We got all masked up for trick-or-treating...
We even made custom ones!
The neighbors had a potluck, but that was too many people for us. We did walk through for the costume parade, and stayed for 1 minute to take this picture. You can see us in the back left, the only ones with masks on. 😷
To make sure we could deliver candy safely to trick-or-treaters we covered a PVC pipe in spider webs and dropped candy down it from the balcony.

A lot of people set up tables outside their houses to leave candy on...
And decorated with some really creative stuff!
There was a beautiful sunset as we set off to collect candy...
And our candy delivery system was a big hit! Quarantine Halloween turned out a lot better than we thought, it was really fun!
You can see us testing it out here:

Back to School...Again

Back to School - in person this time! One of Tommy's first assignments was to make a name tag with things he likes on it...
And Kat got to meet up with 2 of her friends for some physically-distanced fun
Tommy on his way into school for the first time since March 13th!
He had a great day at school, but was very happy to see Gizmo at pick-up.
Kat got "ghosted" by one of her friends as part of a PTA spirit event...
And then was back to school the next week as well.

Another Day in the Pool

Kat opted to watch the kiddie madness from afar this time...
But Tommy wanted to get right in there with Gizmo again.
He LOVED spraying him with the hose...
And from the look of it Gizmo loved it too.
Two silly boys!

Scouting in COVID Times

Kat's patrol started their basketry merit badge...
They learned to weave...
And Gizmo missed her while she was away weaving.
Pretty impressive!
Kat also helped Mom scope out a trail to take the cub scouts on in the Laguna Canyon Wilderness.
That's Barbara's Lake in the background. Who knew there was a lake there?
It was HOT but it was a good 3 mile trail and we had fun.
The next weekend Mom took Tommy's cub scout den out for a COVID-safe hike.
L to R: Lilly, Luke H, Tommy, Ryan, Liam, Remy, Luke F

Tommy was in charge of picking up trash along the way, which he was thrilled about.
It was a fun hike, and good to get back out with his den. They're a great group of Scouts!
He also made a Godzilla pumpkin (it's spitting out a glow stick of fire) for a Scout's pumpkin decorating contest...
And got "Boo-ed" by one of his Scout buddies!
