Bridge Jumping in the Harbor

Before our vacation we decided we needed a beach day with our buddies. The element of danger always makes everything more fun, so we went bridge jumping at a beach in the harbor.
L to R: Tommy, Cole, May, Linh, Kat, Sarah
Here are Linh and I jumping...

And Cole, Tommy, and Frankie taking the plunge.

Tommy and Frankie...
Tommy and Cole dabbing...
And the moms even got in on the action. Mom looks like Superman in this one.
Can't take them anywhere.

August Baking

We decided to make some cake pops of Pusheen and Kirby. What do you think?

This one turned out a little messed up and I kept calling it "Derp Kirby" due to the not-so-smart look on its face.
I also decided to make something for the bake sale at my Scout Troop's fundraising BBQ: Campfire cupcakes!
They turned out pretty cute!
And I sold a bunch AND got to work at the smoothie booth? Perfect!

Harry and the Potters Concert

The library had an outdoor concert to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday. It was a band called "Harry and the Potters" and my friend Emily and her sister Maddie came with us.

They sang songs based on Harry Potter story lines, and even had a guy dressed up as Fawkes the Phoenix that the kids chased around.
Mom's cup was no joke.
She had a little fun of her own with her friend Helen.
We love our library!

Tedders

Teddy got a hole in his neck, and his fur is too threadbare to sew. So Mom used some iron-on fabric strips to make him this fancy new scarf. Doesn't he look regal? Long live Teddy!

Dad's Birthday

Our awesome Dad's been on a bread baking kick, so we got him a stand mixer with a dough hook for his birthday.
And I get to use it too! However I didn't need it for this homemade cheesecake I baked and decorated...
It looks like a scene from his current video game obsession "Red Dead Redemption 2". And it was yummy!
To celebrate we all put on some of our gear from Hawaii and went to dinner at Duke's on the pier.
Dad got a fancy drink, and I got a fancy smoothie!

We had a nice dinner overlooking the ocean...
And Mom taught Tommy the joys of crab cracking. He even thought it was yummy!
There was a beautiful sunset in Dad's honor...

And we had to take a picture in front of this awesome sand sculpture from the US Open.
Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you so much!

Robotics Day Camp

Tommy had a busy week! He walked Chewy in the mornings...
Then went to Robotics Day Camp.
He got to play with and build cool robots, and said it was the best camp he's ever done.
And after camp, a little dip in the pool with your silly sister never hurts.

OCC Planetarium

I've been working on my astronomy merit badge for Scouts, so we took a little trip to the OCC Planetarium. The show was fun, but we also liked Focoult's Pendulum in the lobby. The pendulum swings back and forth in a plane, but the earth rotates below it. As it rotates, pins are knocked down around the circle. As you can see in the video, Tommy was VERY excited to see a pin get knocked down after waiting a whole 5 minutes. There's also a cool reflection of us in the pendulum.

Ears Pierced!

I wanted to get my ears pierced, so Mom took me to a piercing salon to get it done. My friend Emily came along for moral support. Here's Cynthia making sure the piercing is straight...
Two piercers poked me at the same time, so after a quick second it was over! Mom said my eyes got bigger when the needle went in, but that was it! No scream, no crying, no blood, no problem!
I really like them. They're sparkly.
We all got little critters for being brave...
And ice cream to numb the pain. It really didn't hurt, and I can't wait to change them out in 3 months.
