Out and About

We've ventured out for a few meals. Mom and Dad ditched the kids and took Gizmo out for a beer.
He was super tired after running with his dog buddies at the park, so everyone thought he was calm and so well behaved, sitting primly with his front legs crossed.
Gizmo still loves taking the kids to school, and is experimenting with tentatively hanging his head out the car window.
We all went out to dinner to celebrate Kat's straight A's, and this was the only pic Mom could get of the goofballs.

We may have forgotten how to be in public after all this quarantine.

Keeping Busy During Quarantine Part 549

What's better than our normal Throw Throw Burrito game? Giant Throw Throw Burrito!

Gizmo's new favorite spot in Kat's room is on her bean bag.

Gizmo definitely keeps us entertained. He's great at playing fetch, being chased, and having a very fluffy mustache.
He also LOVES eating/drinking from the hose.
And "swimming" with Tommy.

They are 2 silly peas in a pod.

Kat is his favorite snuggle partner.
And Tommy is the one he loves to eat.

We've had some beautiful sunsets lately.
And still some serious side-eye from Gizmo. Good boy!

Gizmo in Action, 8-9 Months

Here is Gizmo in action, chasing his tail, playing soccer, running with his friend Bindi, playing in the hose with Tommy, playing in the kiddie pool, fishing for his ball, whining at Mom icing her ankle, and chasing Tommy's new drone.

Here's another video Tommy's Scouts Webelos Den made as entertainment for a virtual den meeting. It's called "Pets are Bad Scouts".

First Camping Trip in a Year!

Kat's patrol finally got to get back to camping! The girls were so excited, even though because of social distancing they each had to sleep in their own tent.

Happy Camper
Kat worked on the cooking portion of her Camping Merit Badge. Here she is making quesadillas the first night...

The full moon was so big! This photo does not do it justice.
We all took a 5 mile hike...
And when we got back to camp Kat made tacos for lunch.
The girls played at the camp's playground...
And painted rocks before dinner.
Kat made ramen for dinner that night. Boiling water counts as cooking, right?
Here they all are with their awesome Scoutmaster, Jodie. The girls had a blast! At one point we could hear them all giggling around the campfire like normal preteens, then the next minute we hear them counting and cheering each other on while they split firewood. Exactly what a scouts' camping trip should be!

Here's a view of their festive camp lights, and of Kat splitting wood:

Scouts - Feb/March

Scouts has been one of the few things that's been active during quarantine. Tommy's den went to the beach to practice their fire-building skills and how to light matches.
They did a great job!
And when there's a bonfire, there have to be s'mores.
Kat heard there were going to be s'mores so she tagged along too.

They also started working on their first aid adventure. Since they can't practice on each other, they practiced treating for shock, rescue breathing, choking, and preliminary CPR on giant teddy bears.
Tommy saved Big Buddy by giving him the Heimlich Maneuver!
Kat's Troop made valentines for first responders...
And did a trash pick up event in Central park.
Good job, ladies!
Kat also completed her board of review, and is now officially a Star Scout! Way to go, Kat! Her Scoutmaster posted this on Instagram.
