Hospital Stay

I had a pretty crazy Friday night.  While Mom and Dad were out to dinner, my stomach started hurting really bad.  Since I'm usually such a trooper, Bernie called Mom and Dad and they came home to check on me.  I was doubled over and could hardly walk, and had a fever, so Mom took me to the ER.  I had a 100.8 fever at the hospital, and they took some blood and found out that my white blood cell count was out, indicating an infection.  They did an ultrasound to check out my appendix, and then a CT scan to check more.  My appendix looked good, but the area of my intestines next to it looked inflamed.  Since they wanted to make sure it wasn't the early signs of appendicitis, they had me transferred to CHOC, and since I had an IV in for fluids, they had to take me in the ambulance (a first for both Mom and me).  I got to watch Cinderella in the ambulance, and they gave me this cute little bear with a bandage on his arm to keep.
You can see I am feeling much better in this picture after what Dad is calling "The World's Most Expensive Poop".  My lymphocyte count was still high, and so was another inflammatory response marker, so I have some other sort of bacterial or viral thing going on, but hopefully it's unrelated, and they thought it was safe for me to go home and follow up with my doctor in a few days.
I was glad Tommy and Daddy came to visit, but it was hard to convince Tommy that this was not a hotel, and  the bed and TV control was not the phone.  Here he is trying to order room service.
Thanks for making me feel better, CHOC, and for making Mom feel more sane after a long night.
