This Fall in Scouts

Scouts has been going strong through the pandemic, trying to find creative ways to keep the kids engaged. This year for Raingutter Regatta they built their own boats out of scrap material.
Tommy did some good engineering, and his raced pretty well! They used hand-held paper fans since they couldn't blow through a straw like previous years. That wouldn't be very covid-safe!
Kat participated in a 9/11 walk with her Troop and some local veterans...

And had a fun beach bonfire with her patrol and their Scoutmaster.
Kat and some of her patrol volunteered to help get Tommy's den ready for the Camperall Cub Scout competition.
She and the other girls taught them how to make a stretcher from 2 poles and a blanket, and to carry someone as quickly as they could...
Helped them learn the 5 scout knots: 2 half-hitches, taut-line hitch, overhand knot, square knot, and bowline...
Helped them learn Ultimate Frisbee...
And to build a tent as fast as they could. They're going to be so ready to compete!
