Last Day of School - 5th and 8th Grade

The last day of school didn't look quite the way we'd imagined. Kat got Covid, and couldn't attend her 8th grade promotion ceremony. She was a trooper about it, but it was a serious bummer. It was a cruddy yet somehow fitting way to end her junior high career, which was largely affected by the pandemic.
Tommy did get to go out with a bang for his 5th grade promotion.
He was recognized for outstanding academic achievement

And shook the principal's hand when he got his promotion certificate.
Mom and Dad were there to cheer for him, but they hurried the kids back to class before they could get a picture with him!
Good thing his friend Kailee helped them find him.
Congrats, Tom Tom!
There was a luncheon and field day after promotion and Mom ran the photo both. This is one of her very favorite pictures.
Aiden, Tommy, and Evan, Khloe and Kailee, Ivy and Evelyn
It's the end of an era of volunteering at Peterson!
Lunch with his good buddies Cole and Bradley.
Mom and Dad also finally saw the 5th grade panoramic picture that was taken near the beginning of the year. Can you spot Tommy?

Yup, that's him in the back with a mask on and his hood up. Ugh! Glad we didn't buy that one!
We're proud of you, Tommy! Now, on to middle school!
